Hahaha, Nacho, you won't believe it. We have a weird russian dealer in town, he buys and sells of all kinds of stuff - bicycles, too. We went there, actually in search for a couple of old frames and bought to more or less functioning racing bikes with us. 10 bucks, each. Wtf! - It's a tad to big, but that's ok. A couple of more bucks for new tires, chain etc. and I got my first fixie! :D
I've come to the conclusion, that fixie-spare parts will be much more expensive than I thought... wow.
Haha dude, I wrote a comment earlier but blogger somehow made it vanish into intertron-oblivion.. I was basically saying, that fixed gear components can actually get pretty frickin expensive, with hubs and all... Sure, you can get cheapo parts, but those probably won't make you happy for too long once you've been fixed. My advice would be.. to check ebay regularly for nice deals. Or ask people around you who know stuff about bikes. Or if you see someone riding a fixed gear, try to catch up with him ;D and ask him about getting parts. Personally, I wouldn't buy ugly cheapo parts, since one of the great things about the whole fixed thing is... the aesthetics. Anyways, I guess I'm not helping here, good luck with finding nice parts!
